CHA General Meetings

Twice a year, in the Fall and Spring, the Cobble Hill Association hosts a general meeting to update its members on news and events, as well as facilitating discussion about issues that face the community. Every two years, at the Spring general meeting, a new board of officers is elected.

The 2017 spring general meeting will be on May 31 at 7:00 at Brooklyn Heights Montessori School.

Halloween Parade

Twenty or more years ago, a host of tiny goblins, ghosts, and other ghouls would gather in Cobble Hill Park on the afternoon of October 31 before beginning their trick-or-treat quest on surrounding blocks. In the mid-’90s, the Cobble Hill Halloween celebration became a real parade, and a CHA-sponsored event. With the help of our friends at the 76th Precinct, who close off a few blocks to traffic, the parade, led by musicians, begins at 4 PM at the Clinton Street end of the park, continues down Congress to Henry, around to Warren and back to Clinton. Along the way, hundreds of kids (and many parents) show off their frightening finery while stopping at every stoop for as much candy as they can carry. Boo!

Concerts in the Park

On a beautiful summer evening, there is nothing like sitting outside and enjoying live music. (Hey, even when it’s hot and sticky, music outdoors is a delight!) Every summer, the Cobble Hill Association sponsors free concerts in the park. They feature an eclectic mix of music, including blues, jazz, reggae, and rock. In the summer of 2016, Audra Rox, Rookin, and Sweetcane filled the night sky with their tunes. They proved so popular, we added two fall concerts, including one with the Jose Conde Trio.

Union Market is a proud sponsor of the summer Concerts in the Park series.
