Become a Member

It’s free to join, though we hope you’ll consider supporting the CHA by choosing a membership level with an optional contribution to our 501(c)(4) (Because the CHA is a 501(c)(4), donations are not tax-deductible.). Only people who live within the historic district can vote in elections, but we welcome anyone who wants to support the CHA’s efforts.

What does your membership support?

Community Events & Community Service

The CHA hosts or sponsors a number of annual events to bring the community together, including Summer Concerts in Cobble Hill Park (the first three Tuesdays of July), Halloween Window Painting, the Cobble Hill Halloween Parade, and Holiday Caroling.

Information Distribution

The CHA interacts with the community and neighboring associations by sharing information on, among other things, local construction, traffic, safety, upcoming events, and local elections.

Maintain Cobble Hill Park and Upper Van Voorhees Dog Park

Two dedicated CHA Committees enlist volunteers to help maintain the plantings and structures of our two public parks.

Advocate for Cobble Hill

The CHA advocates for the Cobble Hill community with city and state agencies and elected officials on a whole range of issues, e.g., BQE, traffic, development of the former-LICH site, trash, safety, and more. The CHA also helps advocate for neighbors on an individual level, using its resources and connections to help resolve often small, but still important, quality of life issues, e.g., potholes, missing pedestrian crossing signals, or broken street lights.

Beautification

Through our Clean Up Cobble Hill committee and relationship with the Cobble Hill Tree Fund, the CHA works hard to preserve the beauty of our neighborhood.

In addition to joining the CHA as a dues-paying member, please consider making an additional donation to:

–Cobble Hill Community Fund, a 501 (c)(3) that supports the summer concerts in the park, the Halloween parade, neighborhood beautification efforts, caroling in the park, and other community events. You can also make CHCF contributions specifically earmarked for:

–Cobble Hill Park

–Neighborhood Beautification

–Cobble Hill Tree Fund (The Tree Fund is an entity separate from the CHA, but the CHA supports its efforts and its mission – to plant trees in our beautiful neighborhood. To that end, we take donations for the CH Tree Fund through our website, but the organizers of the tree fund administer those funds themselves and run their own activities.)

Volunteer

Without volunteers, there is no Cobble Hill Association. Our volunteers make the organization run in a variety of ways – from recruiting members and writing for the CHA website to organizing meetings and putting up decorations for the Halloween celebration.
