Cobble Hill Association Executive Board

The CHA Executive Board is comprised of volunteer community members who are elected by their neighbors.

Louis Cox

President

Louis Cox was born and raised in Cobble Hill, where he lives with his wife and daughter along with their two cats. When he was growing up in the neighborhood, his father ran a photography business out of their home while his mother was head chef and owner of Fanfare Catering on Atlantic Avenue.

Louis has served three years as a member of the Cobble Hill Association board, where he has committed to maintaining the neighborhood by preserving the trees and cleanliness of the streets while organizing community events that bring neighbors together. He is licensed by the Parks Department to perform street tree maintenance, and has served as the tree planting coordinator for the Cobble Hill Tree Fund: in 2025 he planted 25 street trees while organizing tree care events and educational opportunities.

When he’s not caring for trees, Louis is a writer and filmmaker. His debut feature film, Now Again, was published by The New Yorker. His second feature film, Our Lady of Queens, adapted from a play written by the late Joe Beck and starring Austin Pendleton, premiered at the Chelsea Film Festival. Always passionate about collaborative expression, Louis has worked as a teaching assistant for cinematography, lighting, and film production courses at The New School in Manhattan, was the film shoot supervisor for pre-teens at the SOCAPA summer arts program, and served as a Juror for the 76th Annual Wabash Valley Exhibition at The Swope Art Museum. He believes in engaging with elected officials and city agencies to advocate for his community and is a serving member of the Brooklyn Democratic County Committee and an elected Judicial Delegate.

Daniel Carr

Vice President

Daniel Carr, a lifelong Brooklynite, grew up in Fort Greene, and lives in Cobble Hill with his wife and three children. He received a graduate degree in real estate development from Columbia and works for a private equity firm focusing on real estate investment and development. Growing up, he attended school in the Cobble Hill area where his mother had a medical practice on Atlantic Avenue. Dan’s interests lie in urban growth patterns and he serves on the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute of New York.

Tom Fry

Treasurer

Tom Fry has lived in Brooklyn for over a decade, first in Fort Greene and in Cobble Hill since 2021, where he and his wife Anu have happily settled into the rhythms of neighborhood life. Tom works as a philanthropic advisor, partnering with foundations, families, and nonprofits to help them build stronger, more impactful organizations. Before focusing on the social sector, he spent 14+ years in finance and investing, and has since served on more than 30 nonprofit boards. Outside of work, Tom enjoys running, yoga, cooking, and travel. Joining the CHA Board feels like a natural next step for Tom, who is eager to roll up his sleeves, work shoulder to shoulder with his neighbors, and deepen his engagement in the community he and Anu are proud to call home.
