Dear Cobble Hill Community,

CARSHARE SIGNS POSTED and no cars yet occupying the spots. 
DO NOT PARK THERE! You will be ticketed and towed.

Late last week and early this week the DOT (Department of Transportation) implemented the CARSHARE program (http://nycdotcarshare.info/works)  in Cobble Hill and surrounding neighborhoods.  Residents received tickets right after the signs were installed and now several residents were booted and towed.  This comes less then one week after the signs were installed. NO special markings appear on the street and no other designation except a sign has been installed.  Meaning everyone needs to read the parking signs CAREFULLY.

The CHA did ask for a reprieve from this program because of the amount of parking already seized by construction that will continue for the next decade (the LICH campus and the BQE rehab).  Unfortunately, we were not spared in this initial trial and rollout.

Be warned of new signs and NO Carshare cars yet occupying the spots. You will be ticketed, booted and towed.  Expect fines of nearly $500!
