Last night a large crowd of residents gathered at the Cobble Hill Health Center to vote on a new line up of officers for the Cobble Hill Association’s executive board. There had been several recent vacancies, but with massive development looming at the former LICH site locals did not want there to be any lapse in leadership positions.
Below is a summary of the now approved slate, along with bios of each person after the jump.

Ezana Bocresion has lived in Cobble Hill since 2007 and is the Managing Partner of Aeneas oldings, LLC, a Merchant Banking firm focused on the Emerging Markets. He has over 25 years experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking and Public Accounting. Ezana received an MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BS from Boston University; he is a Senior Non-Resident Fellow of the OCP Policy Center. Ezana and his wife are the parents of two children.
Amy Breedlove has been a Brooklyn resident for more than 20 years. She and her wife, Sabine, have made Cobble Hill their home for 10 years. Previously, they lived in Carroll Gardens and Brooklyn Heights. Amy has been involved in land use issues in Cobble Hill and other neighborhoods. Her wins include prevention of the “mews” project on Henry Street, next to the LAMM Building. Amy has a background in business and the arts and holds both MFA and MBA degrees. She has worked on large
change management projects at a Fortune 500 company. In the last 10 years, she has been the managing director of an architecture firm and consultant to small architecture and interior design businesses. Amy’s mission is to preserve the district’s sense of history, community, and soul for her three- year-old son, as well as maintaining a safe and beautiful neighborhood for all.
Laurel Burr, with her husband and son, has lived in Cobble Hill for twenty-one years. Laurel is the Current Membership Secretary of the Cobble Hill Association and worked with the previous president to set up a modern email system to improve communication with the members. Laurel spent over two decades in book publishing, where she directed the sales teams of the children’s book divisions for two major publishers. She was not born in Cobble Hill but got here as quickly as she could.
Adrian (Buzz) Doherty has lived with his wife and three children on Baltic Street since 1995. Buzz is currently a Managing Director of Hycroft Advisors, and has had a long career in banking and private investing. He is a former Board Chair of the Packer Collegiate Institute where his wife Liz Ann is the head of the nursing office.
Kathryn Yatrakis has lived on Pacific Steet with her husband Peter for almost 40 years, and they consider themselves fortunate to have raised their four children in the Cobble Hill community. For as many years, she has been at Columbia University, first as a faculty member in the political science department (Barnard College) and for the past 26 years as Dean of Academic Affairs, Columbia College, and Senior Associate Vice President, Arts and Sciences. She has directed the Urban Studies Program and continues to teach an undergraduate course in Contemporary Urban Issues. Kathryn has also served on the Boards of Colony South Brooklyn Houses, Packer Collegiate Institute, and Prospect Park Alliance.
