Coalition United in our Future Vision for the BQE

In June of this year, we submitted a statement with the Brooklyn Heights Association and A Better Way to make it clear that our three organizations share a unified vision with regard to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) reconstruction. Over the last six months, we have met with representatives from additional communities adjacent to the BQE project area to discuss the future of the BQE project and our collective expectations and concerns, which have been incorporated into an enhanced Unified Statement. We are now a coalition consisting of twelve neighborhood organizations and residential buildings along the BQE corridor from Sands to Atlantic and we stand united in a call for a transformative, sustainable solution.

Attached please find our Unified Statement to the Expert Panel and city and state officials, with the signatures of the coalition members. We appreciate your attention to our concerns and look forward to working with you, the Expert Panel, NYCDOT, and others.
